Founded in August 2021 by Dr. Yurena Seguí Femenias, Prof. Dr. Ueli Angst, and Dr. Fabrizio Moro, DuraMon quickly achieved key milestones, launching its first Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and securing its initial contracts within the same year. By April 2023, DuraMon transitioned to DuraMon AG, marking the next phase of its growth.
Since then, the company has successfully entered the DACH market, acquiring its first customers in Germany and Austria between 2022 and 2024. DuraMon stands out for its ability to monitor, for the first time, all critical parameters associated with corrosion in reinforced concrete, a primary cause of infrastructure degradation in transportation.
The company’s innovative solution integrates advanced sensors, autonomous data loggers for seamless data acquisition and transfer, and sophisticated data analysis driven by cutting-edge corrosion science. The founding team’s extensive expertise maximizes the value delivered to clients.
With strong backing from venture capital firms, seasoned business angels, and strategic investor Sika, DuraMon is poised for expansion. The new CHF 1.6 million in funding will enable the automation of key internal processes such as sensor installation and data analysis. The company will also focus on expanding its customer base, enhancing existing relationships, and extending its reach beyond the DACH region into other European markets. This funding sets the foundation for DuraMon’s upcoming growth phase in the construction sector.
The engineering startup won Venture Kick.
