Every day, more than 1 million implants are placed using open surgery. Lumigbo developed a technology to build up implants inside the body using an access channel of less than half a millimeter in diameter. The procedure can be used for almost any type of polymer-based implant.

Why do you choose Boston as your business development destination?
The US market is the key market for our products, as the most important investors are concentrated in this region of the globe. Moreover the venture leaders Life Science program focuses on life science and medtech which is ideal for our startup.

What do you want to achieve from the trip?
I want to get in touch with KOLs (Harvard / Massachusetts General Hospital / MIT / Mount Sinai), investors, VCs (Clarus Ventures / Flagship Ventures / Third Rock Ventures) and to forge strong bonds with the other venture leaders team members.

Why is venture leaders Life Science really beneficial for your company?
We are currently going through a very important shift of transferring the IP, prototypes and know-how from our host universities (EPFL & ETHZ) to a company. It is crucial that we expose ourselves internationally now to ensure that once we launch we have the right products with the right people in place. venture leaders in the ideal opportunity to achieve this. It allows us to get deep insight into our most important future export market.
