rrreefs launches CHF 800,000 Seed round
18.05.2026
Swiss coral reef regeneration company rrreefs has opened a CHF 800,000 Seed investment round on OOMNIUM to support international expansion and further develop its reef restoration technology. The ETH Zurich spin-off aims to reach break-even in 2027.

rrreefs develops interlocking 3D-printed clay structures designed to regenerate damaged coral reefs by creating conditions that support the natural return of corals, fish, and other marine life. Developed at ETH Zurich and tested across five countries, the system offers an alternative to labour-intensive coral gardening methods commonly used in reef restoration.
The company reports strong field results, including the natural settlement of thousands of corals within the first year and fish biomass increases of up to ten times compared to non-regenerated sites. The structures are plastic-free, can be deployed without heavy machinery, and are designed to withstand extreme weather conditions.
Since launching commercially in 2023, rrreefs has secured more than 20 paying clients across four continents and generated over CHF 1.3 million in revenue. Its current pipeline stands at approximately CHF 2.4 million. Clients include tourism operators, coastal developers, and corporate buyers of biodiversity and CSR. rrreefs is also a Venture Kick funding recipient.
"Venture Kick was our first investor, and that early support, both financially and morally, was crucial for us, because it gave us credibility," highlighted co-founder and CEO Ulrike Pfreundt.
Investors can pre-register for earlier access to the round and preferential conditions through rrreefs pre-sale registration, which closes on June 1, or by reaching out to ulrike@rrreefs.com directly for access to private rounds.
