What was the first real signal that your solution worked outside the lab or pitch deck, and what did that moment change for you?
Our first signal came from our very first outreach. We contacted Zurich Airport and expected a slow response, but within days we were on a call, and it quickly became clear we were describing the same problem from two sides.
They were already thinking about exactly what we were building. That moment showed us this wasn’t just a research idea; the need was already there.
Can you briefly describe your project and where it stood when you entered Venture Kick?
omenic is building AI-powered decision engines for weather-sensitive industries. Instead of just forecasting weather, we simulate scenarios and recommend operational decisions. We’re starting with aviation, with plans to expand into sectors like energy and insurance.
When we entered Venture Kick, we had a strong technical foundation, two ETH PhDs, and a first industry partner, Zurich Airport, with a signed Letter of Interest. The technology and demand were validated, but we hadn’t yet deployed in a live environment.
How has the direction of your product/service/product strategy changed since working with the Venture Kick Team?
We came in very technically focused. Venture Kick helped us realize that building the business has to happen in parallel with building the product.
We accelerated our go-to-market thinking and understood that sales and customer engagement can’t wait until the product is finished. That shift in mindset was key.
How will the Stage 2 funding help you advance your project concretely?
Stage 2 funding allows us to add dedicated business development capacity, something we were missing so far.
It enables us to deliver pilots on the product side while building a repeatable sales process in parallel. This is the step from being a research-driven team to becoming a company with customers and a real pipeline.
