Déploya addresses high safety risks, long installation times, and frequent errors associated with conventional scaffolding systems that rely heavily on manual work. The project introduces a smart, fast-deploying vertical grid based on origami folding and self-assembling principles. It enables robotic tools to move vertically along the façade, supporting tasks such as transferring CAD/BIM data to site operations, as well as quality and safety checks using AI-based visual inspection. These capabilities will progressively expand to marking, drilling, and eventually full installation.
Déploya Robotics originated at EPFL's Laboratory of Intelligent Systems. The founding team, Jan Petrs and Thomas Estier, combines expertise in robotics startups, deployable structures, and robotic construction.
