Aerial transportation for goods, such as with helicopters, is faster than other methods and requires minimal infrastructure, making it essential for rescue missions, organ transport, disaster relief, and supplying remote areas. However, the high costs of helicopters limit their widespread use, especially for smaller loads. Reducing costs per flight would open new markets, such as fast spare part delivery to industrial plants or construction sites.
Avientus tackles this with an autonomous logistics system and proprietary high-payload drones, targeting a $9.7 billion market, including remote supply, offshore spare parts delivery, and emergency services. The four co-founders first collaborated on a project at ETH Zurich while studying mechanical engineering and robotics.
