Zippsafe wins 130’000 Swiss francs at the Venture Kick final

With their new self-service coat check and service system, which was successfully tested in several pilot trials, Zippsafe is ready for expansion in Europe. The innovative startup won 130’000 Swiss francs at the Venture Kick final.
Up to now, there were three possibilities on how to organize coat checks: An operated service with personnel, lockers or coat racks. While operated coat checks generate staff expenses, lockers take a lot of space. Coat racks are cheap but simply not safe. Zippsafe eliminates all those drawbacks and combines the merits.
A revolution for coat checks in the public space
Zippsafe was founded by two engineering students of ETH Zurich and already counts several employees today. They developed a new high-tech self-service coat check and service system which can be used during events, conference centres or warehouses. Their solution is mobile, allows to cut costs and improves the operational efficiency of event organisers, whereas a higher user satisfaction and friendliness can be reached. Zippsafe is already working together with Migros and several retailers in Austria, Germany and France. “Venture Kick helped us to understand what it takes to build a company and to become entrepreneurs. We can also bring our startup forward thanks to the fresh seed capital received from the program,” says Carlo Loderer, co-founder and CEO of Zippsafe.
