Zippsafe’s space-saving lockers – made of a unique smart fabric, to ensure security while reducing the space required by up to 70%, combined with a networked digital badge system – have already won over customers in Switzerland (including Migros, Swiss International Airlines and the Winterthur and Baden cantonal hospitals) and abroad. The new funding will be used to build a production facility and further the company’s international expansion.
Zippsafe passed the final stage of Venture Kick in 2017. Co-founders Carlo Loderer and David Ballagi said: "Venture Kick's support enabled us to deepen our entrepreneurial skills and put us on the road to this success."
The ETH spin-off’s technical innovations include the fabric itself, which includes an integrated sensor alarm mesh and has the potential for further applications.
