Zaphiro Raises CHF 1.5 Million to Develop Power-Grid Management Software

Zaphiro Technologies SA raised 1.5 million Swiss francs from AtmosClear SA to develop and market its power-grid management software.

Zaphiro, which received 10,000 and training from Venture Kick in 2017, makes software to help utilities monitor their grid, integrate electricity from renewable sources, and reduce the impact of blackouts. The company's software is being tested by Romande Energie SA, largest utility in western Switzerland, and Hong Kong-based China Light and Power Co., which supplies electricity to 80 percent of Hong Kong's population.
"Power grid modernization and digitization is a paramount to enable the safe integration of increasing power generation from renewable energies and electric vehicles and, at the same time, maintain the power grid stability," Paolo Romano, the chief executive and co-founder of Zaphiro, said in an emailed statement today.
