Venture Kick and TOP 100 alumn raises $ 25 million

Lausanne-based startup Lightbend announced today the closing of a $ 25 million financing round led by Dell Technologies Capital.

Lightbend, the EPFL spin-off founded in 2010 has closed a $ 25 million financing round lead by Dell Technology Capital and participated by top-tier VCs such as Bain Capital Ventures, Blue Cloud Ventures, Greylock Partners, IBM, Intel, Juniper Networks, and Shasta Ventures. To date, the company has raised more than $85 million in funding and Tyler Jewell, a Managing Director at Dell Technologies Capital, will join the Lightbend board of directors. The new capital injection will support Lightbend to further scale the business and grow faster. The software is used by more than one million developers at companies such as Capital One, Fortnite, LinkedIn, PayPal and Verizon.
Back in 2011, the company won CHF 130.000 at the Venture Kick stage III and made it several times to the TOP 100 Swiss Startup Award, from 2011 till 2015. Nowadays, Lightbend is headquartered in San Francisco and maintains offices in New York, Atlanta, Quebec, Switzerland, and Sweden.
