Advanced Brain Companion Diagnostics (ABCDx) completed its first private financing round and will use the funds to accelerate and progress clinical and commercial development of its products. The funds were raised in an oversubscribed seed round from local private investors in the greater Geneva area. ABCDx won Venture Kick stage 1 in 2018.
The Geneva-based biotech startup aims to change the way patients with possible mild traumatic brain injury are diagnosed. Instead of an expensive and time-consuming CT scan in a hospital, ABCDx develops a device that analyses the level of proteins in the blood to diagnose the probability of a mild traumatic brain injury within ten minutes. The technology will facilitate the early detection of brain injuries and lower expense for the majority of patients.
