The 2013 Venture Kick startup DEPsys raised 3 million in Series A in 2016 to further develop GridEye, a network optimization platform which measures, monitors and controls the low-voltage grid for an efficient integration of renewable energy sources at decentralized injection points. The solution will help grid operators to efficiently manage the increasing amount of renewable energy without investing in the grid itself.
The ambitious aim of the 2015 Venture Kick winner CellSpring is to become a leading international company in the field of 3D cell cultures. These cell cultures permit more informative drug tests to be performed, thereby making their development quicker and cheaper. In addition to having a novel product in the pharmaceutical industry, a startup such as CellSpring needs a high degree of credibility. Thankfully, the enterprise was able to make a major step forward in 2016 as far as plausibility is concerned – in May, CellSpring entered into a partnership with Tecan, a major Swiss producer of technology for laboratories.
CellSpring traveled to Boston with the venture leaders Life Science in 2015 to meet investors and experts.
