Two great projects and their teams won the second stage of Venture Kick in March 2017: Lumigbo and CoatChecker. They will soon pitch in front of the Venture Kick jury again at the big final, where they might win another CHF 100’000.

Lumigbo (EPFL, Medtech): A technology to build up implants inside the body
Every day, more than 1 million implants are placed into human and animal bodies using open surgery. Lumigbo develops a technology to build up implants inside the body using an access channel of less than half a millimeter in diameter. The procedure can be used for almost any type of implant.
Coatchecker (Zurich University of Applied Sciences - ZHAW, Materials, Chemicals): A new and innovative measuring device to measure the thickness of sealing layers
CoatChecker is a new and innovative measuring device that can measure the thickness of sealing layers, which are widely used in the construction sector. The device uses a new method which significantly improves measuring time and does not destroy the measured layer. It will help construction companies around the world to save time and money.
