Lymphatica (EPFL) - Medtech: A medical device development company that has designed the first implantable system for chronic lymphedema treatment, which it intends to produce and market. Chronic lymphedema is a common side effect of cancer therapies that causes chronic swelling of the limbs, pain and recurrent infections, leading to a state of chronic disability for millions of people in the world.

MotionPilot (EPFL) – Electronics, mechanics: The MotionPilot team is developing a smart radiocontroller to interface with every kind of drone. Its simplicity and intuitiveness enables beginners to start flying straight away and with no effort. A haptic feedback engine inside the controller provides more sensations to the pilot and create more authentic experiences. 

The pilot controls his drone by moving and tilting the controller in the air. The drone follows exactly the movement of the controller. The haptic engine provides feedback to the pilot by creating pressure zones inside his hand: if the drone tilts on the left, the pilot will feel a pressure on the left side of the controller.

Komed Health (IFA) – Medtech: A fully encrypted, secure platform for instant medical team & patient communication accessible via iOS, Android, and Desktop, saving healthcare institutions both time and operating costs. The application is integrated seamlessly with existing key clinical systems (e.g. EMRs) and offers reliable connectivity for anytime, anywhere communication. 

Komed Health aims at replacing the outdated pager services, insecure messaging systems and phone calls, EHR message baskets, and E-Mails with a single product. They do this through a user-friendly application that models medical provider workflow and presents patient health data in the context of group chats, direct messaging, private groups, and persistent chat rooms. The application includes features such as priority messaging, delivery confirmation, message archiving, availability status setting, voice / video calling, attachments sharing, search by patient ID, etc.
