Four startups won CHF 10’000 each at the first stage of Venture Kick: Aesyra, BITQEY, Qnami and SelfPuris. They benefit from the annual global 3 million in cash support from the program as well as hands-on execution support at the kickers camps. Now they're preparing for stage two, where they might win another CHF 20’000.

Aesyra (EPFL - Medtech): Aesyra develops and commercializes intra-oral sensors that help dental professionals in reducing damages induced on dental prostheses by occlusal problems. They want to bring stretchable electronics in dentistry, to revolutionize the state of the art of digital dentistry worldwide.

BITQEY (ETHZ - Hightech): Bitqey is a plug-and-play electric module which transforms any type of electric lock into a smart lock. The platform technology enables keyless access and allows businesses in the renting and sharing economy to become fully automated. Thanks to the modular design, Bitqey is not only constrained to door locks.

Qnami (Uni Basel - Hightech): Qnami develops new sensors based on quantum technologies. Their products allow customers to perform non-invasive magnetic imaging at the nanoscale in all types of environment. Their solutions address the demand across different applications from fundamental material science to medical early-stage diagnostic.

SelfPuris (ETHZ - Cleantech): SelfPuris is developing a modular device for on-site water purification. The device, based on a new biofilm-membrane filtration technology, operates without chemicals, uses minimal energy input and needs low maintenance. These features give it a wide range of commercial applications for recycling greywater and for purification of surface water into drinking water.
