Swiss Medtech Award for Ava

Venture Kick winner Ava has taken home the 2018 Swiss Medtech Award, in recognition of not only the company’s product but also its entrepreneurial performance.

Ava’s sensor bracelet measures nine vital signs to deliver highly accurate information on a woman’s fertility cycle, delivering health insights and increasing the chances of conception. The company reports that users are registering 15 new pregnancies every day – 10,000 so far.
The startup, which which passed the final stage of Venture Kick in 2015, has had an excellent month. Just two weeks ago it closed a series B funding round with $30 million of investment, which it said would be used to develop new applications.
Co-founder Peter Stein said: “The whole Ava team is grateful for the external recognition of our impact on women’s health. It is an additional motivator to launch the next stages of the Ava rocket and bring the technology platform to couples who want to use it for having a safe pregnancy and non-hormonal contraception.”
