Subatron receives CHF 40,000 from Venture Kick to scale wireless underwater connectivity solutions
13.02.2026
The deeptech startup Subatron has secured Venture Kick support to advance its modular wireless underwater communication systems. Inspired by long-range ultrasonic communication in nature, the technology enables reliable data transmission in environments where conventional solutions fail, paving the way for robust, deployable underwater connectivity across industrial and research applications.

What was the first real signal that your solution worked outside the lab or pitch deck, and what did that moment change for you?
Very early on, we were confident the principle would work because nature already proves it, whales communicate over long distances using ultrasonic waves. That gave us strong validation that reliable long-range underwater communication is physically possible.
From that point, the question wasn’t if it works, but how to engineer it into a robust, controllable, and deployable system. Our focus quickly shifted from feasibility to execution.
Can you briefly describe your project and where it stood when you entered Venture Kick?
Subatron develops modular, high-performance wireless underwater communication systems that enable reliable data transmission where conventional technologies fail.
When we entered Venture Kick, we had a proof of concept and a solid theoretical foundation for our prototype and MVP architecture. What we lacked were the financial resources to move from theory to hardware development, system integration, and real-world validation.
How has the direction of your product/service/product strategy changed since working with the Venture Kick Team?
With Venture Kick’s support, we moved decisively into the validation phase. We now have pilot tests scheduled with first customers and defined operational use cases.
At the same time, we strengthened our business development and benefited from the Venture Kick network, gaining experienced advisors who helped refine our product positioning and go-to-market strategy.
How will the Stage 2 funding help you advance your project concretely?
Stage 2 funding allows us to produce our first small series and take concrete steps toward market entry.
It also enables us to attend key industry events, engage directly with customers and partners, and strengthen our market presence as we prepare for scaling.
