The Swiss startup commercializes smart flooring solutions for people flow management and monitoring in complex environments. It transforms floors into an intelligent platform capable of sensing, recognizing and predicting activity happening on its surface. Ease to install with real-time access, Technis technology has potential applications in hospitals and other medical facilities, including retirement homes.

Thanks to a special app, the medical staff can monitor in real time the patients’ conditions, allowing the staff to know when a patient falls on the ground or help follow a patient rehabilitation progress. The data the system provides would also enable elderly persons to remain at home longer while being monitored. Real-time steps analysis provides invaluable information to determine a person’s condition and identify any irregularities. Technis has recently conducted a series of conclusive tests in the medical sector. The Lausanne based startup has already proven its technology valuable in the event industry with installations in museums or convention centers allowing the institutions to know in real time crowd levels and improve their resources management strategies.
