Scale up Bootcamps Connects Swiss Corporates and Growing Startups Online to Start Strong Partnerships

More than 40 growth-oriented entrepreneurs and heavy-weight Swiss corporates gathered for the first-ever online held Scale Up Bootcamp to connect and exchange business development proposals during a successful day of entrepreneurial matchmaking. Two Scale up Bootcamps, gave 22 innovative Swiss startups and 22 of the country’s leading corporates the chance to explore partnerships across enterprise tech, fintech and cybersecurity.

Each industry vertical’s half-day session began with inspirational and captivating pitches and gave the pace for a rich connecting day. On a Zoom meeting, a fine and rare selection of top scaling startups and Swiss corporates alike had 90 seconds to present their areas of interest and lay the foundations for subsequent 1-on-1 meetings on B2Match app. Entrepreneurs and decision-makers enjoyed as many as six intense, 10-minute exchanges with their matches to discuss potential partnerships. Entreprise Tech
Startups in the entreprise tech vertical enjoyed access to 11 of the country’s biggest corporates, including SBB CFF FFS, Post and Swisscom. Dr. René Cotting, Global Head of Start-up Engagements and Chairman ABB Technology Ventures, ABB said: “We experienced a new innovative match-making event - thanks to the corona-crisis. I would see this, additionally to follow-on physical meetings, a great way forward!”. In turn, the corporate executives could discuss potential synergies and collaborations for growth with entrepreneurs at the cutting-edge of technology. "No need to travel. Meaningful match-making can happen in a fast, customised way,” said Sandra Tobler, CEO & Co-Founder, Futurae Technologies AG.
Fintech and Cybersecurity
The afternoon’s Fintech and Cybersecurity session attracted well-known companies, such as UBS, JPMorgan & Chase Co., and PwC, as well as global software and security players. The growth-oriented Swiss startups included technology leaders encompassing secure collaboration, augmented language intelligence, end-to-end insurance enabler, or solutions for authentication.? “Superb format. Interesting people. Lots of opportunities.” said Tomas Hurcik, CEO & Co-Founder of Orca AG who also participated in Venture Leaders Fintech in 2019.
Future partnerships
“The matchmaking included a speed-dating that helped Systemcredit find corporate partners for a proof-of-concept,” said Daniel Christen, CEO & Co-Founder of Systemcredit AG.
The Scale-up Bootcamps are a partnership by digitalswitzerland, Gebert Rüf Stiftung and Venture Kick operated by Venturelab.
