Aspivix SA (Haute Ecole ARC) - Medtech
Every year, 65 million obstetric and gynecological treatments require access to the uterus. The standard use of Tenaculum forceps may be painful as well as traumatic and pose a risk of cross-contamination. Aspivix are developing a new generation of Tenaculum forceps which painlessly uses vacuum suction, reducing discomfort for the patient, eradicating the risk of bleeding and lesions and as a single use instrument avoids the risk of cross contamination.
MeduSoil Sarl (EPFL) - Earth reinforcement So(i)lutions / Constructions technology / Cleantech / Materials – Chemicals
Across the world, there is a need to build ever more complex structures on lower quality soils. Current soil stabilization methods must be tailored to suit a given location and a specific engineering application. MeduSoil couples novel bio-chemical means with traditional engineering tools and processes for suggesting efficient earth reinforcement solutions. A bio-chemically active layer is integrated in traditional practices to ultimately increase soil’s resistance and rigidity and secure the integrity of structures against failures and environmental threats.
