Decarbonizing heating energy in buildings is crucial to develop more sustainable cities and achieve global climate protection and energy security. A promising approach is district heating and cooling networks (DHC) which connect buildings to renewable sources. Despite their high potential, they suffer from low adoption due to the complexity and costs of implementing them. Planeto's Thermal Energy System Simulation Assistant (TESSA) tackles this challenge by digitalizing DHC planning and rapidly creating models using building geo-data, building physics, advanced algorithms, and artificial intelligence. Its innovative features include immediate data generation for entire countries, eliminating time-consuming collection. TESSA's modular design, unparalleled performance and flexibility enhance reproducibility and reduce uncertainty, thus accelerating the adoption of DHC and making cities more sustainable.
In Europe alone, the market for planning DHC is worth CHF 850 million per year. In the longer term, 80% of new buildings will be in emerging markets, opening up a huge growth opportunity. Planeto is offering a high-added-value solution as Software-as-a-Service, targeting energy utilities and engineering consultancies. The startup already generated revenue through the first clients and partners.
Planeto will invest CHF 150,000 to implement its product on the market, concurrently focusing on four aspects: Continuing and consolidating technical development with new features, executing a go-to-market strategy, advancing business development, and expanding the team.
The current team consists of two Co-Founders, Stefano Cozza and Jonathan Chambers, a data scientist, Xiang Li, and a software engineer, Narek Alvandian.
“The entire Venture Kick process and different bootcamps have been great in accelerating our growth. We firmly believe that our participation in the program aligns with its goals and values,” said Stefano Cozza, CEO of Planeto. “Our vision and dedication to accelerating the energy transition forward are determined and we believe that Venture Kick is the perfect platform for us to make a substantial impact.”
