Swiss cleantech company Perovskia Solar AG has secured a EUR 2.25 million EIC Accelerator Grant from the European Innovation Council (EIC), alongside a potential co-investment from the EIC Fund in its upcoming financing round. The EIC Accelerator is one of Europe's most competitive innovation funding programs, supporting breakthrough technologies with global market potential. Perovskia was selected following a multi-stage evaluation process involving scientists, industry experts, and investors.

The Empa spin-off, a Venture Kick, Venture Leaders alumnus, and ranked among the Top100 Swiss Startups Perovskia, develops digitally printed perovskite photovoltaic cells designed to power IoT devices and smart electronics without disposable batteries. Its technology offers customized cell designs, strong performance under indoor lighting conditions, and scalable manufacturing capabilities. The company is already supplying customers in sectors including smart home systems, electronic shelf labels, asset tracking, medical wearables, and consumer electronics.

The EIC-funded project will support further improvements in energy conversion efficiency, manufacturing capacity, product durability, and intellectual property development. The award follows a period of commercial growth during which Perovskia expanded from laboratory development to volume production and secured contracts with device manufacturers across Europe, North America, and Asia.

Perovskia is currently preparing for its next growth phase, focusing on manufacturing scale-up and international expansion. The EIC grant and potential participation in the EIC Fund are expected to support these efforts and strengthen the company's financing strategy.

“Venture Kick and Venturelab have been instrumental in Perovskia’s growth, providing not only early-stage funding but also exceptional coaching, visibility, and access to an investor and innovation network. Their support helped transform our technology into a rapidly scaling commercial company,” highlighted Anand Verma, Co-Founder and CEO of Perovskia Solar.
