Manufacturers worldwide are facing unprecedented challenges, with increasing demands for performance, safety, and sustainability, alongside pressures to reduce costs and speed up innovation. Neural Concept addresses these challenges by using AI to help engineering teams develop better products faster.
Founded in 2018 in Lausanne, Switzerland, Neural Concept employs over 60 people across Switzerland, Germany, and the US. It leads in 3D Deep Learning for product engineering in the Automotive, Micro-electronics, Aerospace, and Energy industries. Over 60 OEMs, including Airbus, Bosch, General Electric, Subaru, and four out of ten Formula 1 racing teams, use Neural Concept’s platform to integrate Engineering Intelligence into their product development processes.
The ICT startup has secured USD 27 million in a Series B funding round, led by Forestay Capital, with participation from the D. E. Shaw group and existing investors Alven, CNB Capital, HTGF, and Aster Capital. This follows a USD 9 million Series A round in March 2022 and a USD 2 million Seed round in 2020. The new funds will help strengthen Neural Concept's technological leadership and support its global expansion to meet increasing customer demand in Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the US.
The Series B funding news follows the recent unveiling of a close technical collaboration with NVIDIA, allowing Neural Concept to optimize the performance of physics-driven deep learning models on NVIDIA GPUs and CUDA software and to jointly push the frontiers of the field. The platform uses Neural Concept's technology with advanced data analysis and MLOps to streamline product simulation and development. It enhances team collaboration, cutting development times by up to 75%, speeding simulations by up to 10x, and improving product efficiency, safety, speed, and aerodynamics by up to 30%.
Neural Concept was ranked among the TOP 100 Swiss Startups from 2020 to 2023, participated in Venture Leaders Technology in 2023, and won the final stage of Venture Kick in 2019.

"The Venture Leaders program offered us valuable insights into the mechanics and dynamics of the Silicon Valley. Together with VC partners from the Valley ecosystem, we improved our pitches and applied these learnings to pitch to various investors at multiple events," commented Pierre Baqué, CEO of Neural Concept. "Being in a group of leading Swiss startups was inspiring and fun."
