The startup, a spin-off from EPF Lausanne's computer vision lab, uses artificial intelligence to analyze the aerodynamics of car and airplane designs 1,000 times more quickly than the current state-of-the-art.

Today's standard approach in industries, such as automotive, aerospace, robotics and energy, is to use CAD-based simulation software to analyse the performance of new designs. As these computations are very time-consuming, only a small number of possibilities can be explored, among a very large number of potential designs. The startup's product Neural Concept Shape is able to accelerate simulations from days to minutes or seconds, and to automatically find optimal solutions under precisely defined criteria and constraints. The solution saves time and enables engineers to focus on their core tasks, while suggesting new designs that were previously unthinkable.

The company won the third and final stage of Venture Kick in April, receiving a total of 130,000 francs and intensive training.

"The Kickers Camp was really a key element for us, in terms of how we structure our message and talk about our company. Now we pitch to focus more on the benefits we bring, not the technology and how we bring it" said Pierre Baqué. "The trainer’s feedback is very critical, but always in a positive manner."
