External Beam Ablation Medical Devices (EBA-Med) (CERN, TERA Foundation) - Medtech
EBA-Med develops and commercializes innovative solutions for non-invasive and automated treatment of heart arrhythmias by using proton beams (external beam ablation). The proton beam mimics the effect of an invasive manual catheter procedure, which requires many hours of work by specialized staff. Compared to currently available proton beam treatments, the team proposes a solution with greater accuracy in targeting a specific location within a beating heart. EBA-Med aims to make the treatment of arrhythmias safe and effective with minimum discomfort for patients (over 350k yearly worldwide).
Gilytics GmbH (ETH) – IT, Cleantech, energy
Power grid operators (or technically called Transmission System Operators – TSOs) still plan new power lines by hand and they have to go through time consuming steps to get permits and to communicate with local communities. Gilytics provides IT interactive and automated solutions to support TSOs in identifying the route of new transmission lines and to improve the interaction with authorities and communities with the use of 3D visualization and virtual reality.
