Investment from the round, which was oversubscribed, will be used to expand into Germany and Austria. LuckaBox, which won Venture Kick’s highest level of support and training in 2018, makes software that connects couriers with shops and manufacturers seeking fast and flexible deliveries on-demand. Co-founder and CEO Aike Festini explains more about the company, its goals and path in our interview below.

What is LuckaBox's mission and core innovation?
LuckaBox is a cloud-based platform for on-demand and same-day deliveries. Finally all retailers – whether online and bricks-and-mortar – and manufacturers can offer what today’s customers want: flexible and fast deliveries, adapted to their lives, and not the other way around. We enable easy access to a professional, nationwide network of express delivery companies and bicycle couriers, via an API interface for webshops or any device with an internet connection. Our mission is to make the delivery the best possible customer experience. Because shopping only ends, when the customer receives their delivery in their hands. Where they wish, and when they wish.

How will this funding help you achieve your vision?
We will use the funds to drive our expansion in Austria and Germany, meaning business development, operations, human resources. Our growing customer base also requires us to constantly improve and further-develop our software.
How did those early Venture Kick juries, kickers camps and pre-seed funding lay the foundations for today's funding round?
Having Venture Kick believe in you and support your idea was an essential advantage in the early stages. The program's three stages really supported us in becoming what LuckaBox is and getting us where we are today.
We ran our pilot during the first stage of Venture Kick, and learnt that our initial idea for LuckaBox wasn't going to work as we had imagined. So we applied all Venture Kick's resources to develop a completely new business plan. The incredibly useful Kickers Camps were where we created our first real pitch deck and learned to pitch. Winning our first funding from Venture Kick set the tone for all the future investments that came – it’s a very important milestone on any startup's journey. Of course we have learned many new things during this round, but without the initial support and training I am not sure if we would be where we are today."
