What was the first real signal that your solution worked outside the lab or pitch deck, and what did that moment change for you?

Kyra started from an observation during our PhDs: the energy grid is changing fast, but the tools haven’t kept up. What stood out was that industry players independently reached out to both of us, confirming the need from different angles.
Early on, some ideas didn’t gain traction, which pushed us to engage more closely with customers. The real turning point came with a product validation survey that clearly confirmed demand. That gave us the confidence to fully commit to building Kyra as a business.

Can you briefly describe your project and where it stood when you entered Venture Kick?

Kyra is building an AI-powered grid intelligence platform for energy markets. We forecast grid congestion from minutes to decades ahead, helping trading companies, developers, and operators make better decisions and improve profitability.
Before Venture Kick, we had validated the need with industry and secured two signed LOIs. While we were confident technically, we were still early on the business side and needed guidance on building a scalable company.

How has the direction of your product/service/product strategy changed since working with the Venture Kick Team?

Venture Kick pushed us out of the academic mindset and into real customer and market focus. We strengthened our go-to-market strategy, refined our target markets, and developed a more grounded pricing and growth plan.
It also helped us understand how to communicate our value clearly to both investors and customers, turning a strong technical solution into a compelling business proposition.

How will the Stage 2 funding help you advance your project concretely?

Our next step is launching pilot projects with industry to refine the product ahead of our SaaS launch later this year.
Stage 2 funding helps us accelerate this by improving the product’s presentation, strengthening our sales funnel, and boosting visibility through key industry events. It’s a key step toward building Kyra into a scalable and impactful business.
