Jaipur Robotics, a startup based in Lugano, has secured CHF 700,000 in pre-seed funding to advance its AI-driven solutions for the waste management sector. Led by TiVentures, this investment will help accelerate the company's growth and expansion. By addressing key challenges faced by waste-to-energy plants, Jaipur Robotics aims to enhance operational efficiency, reduce risks, and support a more sustainable approach to waste management.

Waste-to-energy plays a key role in managing non-recyclable waste, but the sector faces several challenges. In the European Union, around 25% of waste still ends up in landfills, leading to land consumption, high costs, and health risks. Waste-to-energy plants also deal with hazardous objects—like gas cylinders and concrete blocks—that can cause costly shutdowns. Additionally, the variability of waste makes it difficult to optimize combustion, while a shortage of specialized operators complicates plant management.

Jaipur Robotics, founded by Ermes Zamboni (CEO) and Nikhil Prakash (CTO), has developed an AI-driven system to monitor waste pits in real-time. The technology detects hazardous objects before they cause damage and maps the calorific value of waste, allowing operators to optimize mixing for better energy production. This automation and digitization improve operational efficiency at waste-to-energy plants.

Early adopters are already using Jaipur Robotics' solution, and the company plans to expand its customer base and enhance the product. According to Ermes Zamboni, the pre-seed funding will support the company’s growth and development plans.

With its innovative AI technology, Jaipur Robotics aims to help waste management plants operate more efficiently, reduce risks from hazardous materials, and promote sustainability in the industry. The funding will help the company refine its technology and meet the growing demands of the waste-to-energy sector.

The startup won Venture Kick in 2025.
