Isochronic, based in Denges (Vaud), employs 14 collaborators and develops a new type of industrial robot capable of simultaneous part transfer operations based on a novel kind of kinematic. The company’s technology features multiple modular components: a central linear transfer beam that enables expanded pick & place transfer distances, as well as multiple sliders equipped with pick heads that operate in parallel, thus providing a significant boost in throughput, while delivering key customer benefits of space savings and modularity. Isochronic will be participating in the Automatica trade show in a couple of weeks in Munich (June 21-24th) where it will reveal its technology to the industry for the first time.

“Serpentine Ventures’ funding underscores the significant potential of Isochronic’s technology to reinvent robotic pick&place applications in several industrial sectors. It is a critical inflection point for our company’s development and great recognition of our previous accomplishments, strengthening the motivation of our highly skilled and experienced team”, says Dr. Melvin Haas, CEO, and Founder of Isochronic.

We interviewed CEO and Founder, Dr. Melvin Haas, to know more about his entrepreneurial path.

You won Venture Kick in 2021. How did it help you lay the foundation for your growth and today's achievement?
The Venture Kick foundation and its network were among the first to realize the significant value creation potential of Isochronic’s innovation.

You also participated in Venture Leaders Deeptech 2021. How did it leverage your fundraising strategy?
The VL Deeptech program facilitated networking with fellow like-minded entrepreneurs, helping us navigate several key strategic decisions impacting the development of our young technology company

When, and what, was your inspiration to found Isochronic?
The idea for what would become isochronic was conceptualized through my repeated exposure to customer problems in the field while scaling the international partner network which I helped build while working at the Swiss robotics component company Asyril SA (FR).

What is your advice for the potential Robotics entrepreneurs launching companies in Switzerland today?
I suggest talking to as many potential customers and industry experts as possible, which helps to gain clarity about the customer problems that are to be addressed by the new company.
