What was the first real signal that your solution worked outside the lab or pitch deck, and what did that moment change for you?

The first real signal came from our proof-of-concept study with our research partners, which showed very promising results. Beyond the data, it was inspiring to see how many institutions and stakeholders shared our vision.

As founders, we've all experienced situations where an objective blood test for mental health disorders could have made a real difference. That validation gave us confidence that we're addressing an important unmet need.

Can you briefly describe your project and where it stood when you entered Venture Kick?

InBiomics is developing a biosensing platform that uses a simple, minimally invasive blood test to identify and differentiate psychiatric disorders such as bipolar disorder and major depression. Our goal is to help patients receive the right diagnosis and treatment faster.

When we joined Venture Kick, our research partners had completed a proof-of-concept study, and we were preparing larger clinical studies in Switzerland. Venture Kick has been instrumental in helping us connect with researchers and key stakeholders to make that happen.

How has the direction of your product/service/product strategy changed since working with the Venture Kick Team?

Venture Kick helped us focus more on the customer and how our test can be integrated into existing clinical workflows. It also connected us with important collaborators who are helping us start patient testing.

Along the way, we also identified a promising new application for our core technology, which we’re excited to explore further.

How will the Stage 2 funding help you advance your project concretely?

Stage 2 funding will allow us to continue participating in the Flämingo accelerator in Germany, where we collaborate with the Fraunhofer Institute, and attend international conferences to meet investors and stakeholders, particularly in the U.S., our largest target market.

The funding will also support development of our new application and help cover key IP costs.
