Created in 2011 and with 35 employees today, Geosatis developped an innovative electronic ankle bracelet for offenders which combines remarkable features – such as a GPS connection and an automatic alarm that is triggered if an attempt is made to remove or damage it – with the ability to charge the device quickly and easily. The startup gained its first European country as a customer in the form of Lithuania and had signed a volume of contracts in April 2017 worth 2 million Swiss francs. Their security solution has been tested in prisons and continues to receive attention internationally.
One of the three finalists of the SEF Award this year was Gamaya, another Venture Kick and TOP100 startup, which develops patented image sensors installed on drones to scan large-scale cultivated areas. The technology can help farms make huge savings for example.
