Counterfeiting is one of the fastest growing economic crimes, and threatens national economies around the world. ScanTrust is the solution to this widespread problem. The EPFL spin-off protects brands and consumers by offering mobile authentication technology. ScanTrust is an online Cloud based solution platform, which verifies the authenticity of products in a cost-effective and secure manner. The platform empowers consumers and brands by allowing them to authenticate products with their mobile phones. Users simply scan a product’s secure QR code and receive instant feedback of that product’s authenticity. Companies then use the data from each scan to optimize their supply chain and improve their engagement with consumers.

Yosef Akhtman, post-doc at EPFL, created Anyband. The startup will make hyper spectral imaging accessible and affordable across multiple domains of applications by introducing a new class of compact, lightweight and inexpensive sensors based on a novel, patented technological solution. The cameras will be optimized for integration in small unmanned aircrafts, which will position Anyband to take the full advantage of the rapidly emerging $5 billion global market for airborne monitoring of vegetation.
