San Francisco-based Crunchbase, the directory for global startups and venture capitalists, recognized Venture Kick among the world’s 14 most-active seed investors in 2018, alongside private U.S.-companies such as Y-Combinator, 500 Startups and Techstars. Venture Kick has supported more than 600 Swiss startups to date.
"This underlines how many deep-science startups are making their way from Swiss universities to global markets," said Jordi Montserrat, Venture Kick's co-managing director. "Global investors recognize Switzerland as a hub of high-potential entrepreneurial talent."

Flanked by government-backed venture capital funds, and for-profit VC-firms in the U.S. and U.K., Venture Kick stands-out as the only philanthropic initiative. The consortium of private donors that funds Venture Kick views the transformation of scientific innovation into products, services and jobs as the foundation of Switzerland's social and economic prosperity.
Entrepreneurs for Entrepreneurs
The Venture Kick model reinforces the foundation’s philanthropic and entrepreneurial philosophy for long-term support: the successes of startups that have benefited from the program assist future generations of society by increasing the size of the Venture Kick fund available for Switzerland’s next entrepreneurs.

Venture Kick is supported by Gebert Rüf Stiftung, Ernst Göhner Stiftung, Hauser Stiftung, André Hoffmann, Hansjörg Wyss, Martin Haefner, Igor Fisch, Fondation ProTechno, Rising Tide Foundation, ESA BIC Switzerland, Engagement Migros and Swisscom.
