The chip industry is eager to incorporate nanomaterials like carbon nanotubes, graphene, and molybdenum disulfide into semiconductor devices, enabling pioneering technologies. The nanoelectronics market, currently worth USD 200 billion, is set to double in the next five years. Yet, the key obstacle is the slow production of nanoelectronic devices.  Leveraging their expertise in nanotechnology, automation, and high-precision engineering, the CEO Seoho Jung, CTO and COO Natanael Lanz, and CPO Andre Butzerin have already achieved a remarkable increase in the speed of producing nanotube-based devices. With a clear R&D roadmap, they are gaining customers in different sectors ranging from quantum technology to sensors.

The ETH/Empa spin-off is gearing up for significant growth: Chiral is set to expand its core team with scientists, engineers, and business managers.

The startup will invest CHF 150,000 to expand its development capacities and hire key professional services to further expand its market penetration.

“At every Venture Kick evaluation stage, we had a diverse audience of experts. Feedback from such an audience is always insightful. We started our 2023 with Venture Kick Stage 1 and are closing the year by unlocking Stage 3. We are confident we have grown into a much stronger team,” said Seoho Jung, CEO and Co-Founder of Chiral Nano.
