Check out the four Venture Kick winners of stage 1
16.01.2017
These are the lucky winners of the latest first stage: Sleepiz, Lymphit, Skypull and Cellphmed. The four startups won CHF 10’000 each. They will soon compete on the second stage, where Venture Kick will allow them to expand their project and compete for another CHF 20'000 at the next stage.

Sleepiz: Their product is a Multidimensional sleep monitoring and assessment device. Current state of the art sleep monitoring and assessment tools are unsuitable to carry out cost effective long term continuous patient monitoring and assessment. Their device is contactless, easy to use, inexpensive and robust in operation. Sleepiz combines state of the art sensor technologies and latest hardware with advanced learning algorithms to achieve clinical grade contact-less monitoring and assessment of sleep. The device does not demand specialized infrastructure for its operation.
Dicronis: Lymphedema is a frequently occurring and serious complication of cancer therapies. It is a chronic and progressive disease, mostly outlined by the swelling of a limb, due to improper function of the lymphatic system. Lymphit helps to drastically improve its prognosis, by providing a diagnosis in the subclinical stage. The lymphatic function is assessed using a breakthrough microneedles-technology in a simple, safe, minimally-invasive, and cost-effective manner.
Skypull: Their innovation is an airborne wind energy system, which consists of a fully autonomous flying device (drone) connected through a tether to an on-ground generator. The drone transforms the wind power available between 200 and 600 m above ground in traction on the cable, forcing the drum to unroll the tether from the generator to produce electricity. The duty cycle implies a generation phase (the flying device increases in altitude) and a recovery phase (losing altitude). The duty cycle is automatically and precisely managed by the control system on board the drone and the ground generation system.
Cellphmed: The venture leaders alumnus developed a method to verify the identity and quality of human cells. With their disruptive technology Cellphmed is changing the process of drug development and will open doors for the advancement of personalized medicine. Based on Next Generation RNA Sequencing, their barcodes are a way to identify a cell based on its identity and state.
