The new funding will push CREAL's abilities to secure the next level of product development, enabling their light-field display from the current hardware development stage and ultimately offer cutting edge Augmented Reality (AR) glasses. The round was led by Swisscom Ventures and supported by current investors such as Investiere, DAA Capital Partners, and Ariel Luedi.

CREAL develops so-called light-field technology that creates genuine 3D images with correct "one-eye" depth cues allowing an eye to change focus naturally. This enables virtual objects to be seamlessly fused into the real world and each eye can change focus between virtual objects in the image, just like it would do in the real world. CREAL argues that develop and market disruptive display technology to hardware producers is essential to the success of the Virtual Reality (VR) and AR markets.

The CHF 6.5M series A+ funding round was led by Swisscom Ventures and supported by current investors such as Investiere, DAA Capital Partners, and Ariel Luedi.

The additional capital will allow CREAL to ramp up the last technology development stages to offer the glasses for consumer ends. Tomas Sluka, Co-founder and CEO of CREAL says "Our AR glasses are destined to become our everyday tool in everything from cooking to neurosurgery".

CREAL was supported by Venture Kick, Venture Leaders, and TOP100. Tomas Sluka mentions "I really regard Venturelab as a mother of CREAL, literally, no kidding. I had zero entrepreneurial experience before I started the Venturelab evening courses a year before incorporation then, Venture Kick and Venture Leaders. I doubt that the initial idea would ever turn into a functioning start-up without this initial kick and continuous support ".
