In a landmark collaboration, ZEISS will integrate CREAL’s advanced light field display technology into its vision care devices, marking an industry first. This partnership aims to simplify vision tests and significantly enhance the experience for both patients and eye-care practitioners.

CREAL and ZEISS have announced a licensing agreement to develop a revolutionary digital vision care platform. By incorporating CREAL’s light field display technology, ZEISS will create devices for advanced eye exams and virtual simulations of various lenses. This partnership aims to modernize outdated vision tests, making them faster, cost-effective, and user-friendly.
Current refraction tests are often slow, expensive, and cumbersome, impacting both eye care professionals and the public—over two-thirds of Americans use corrective lenses, and myopia is expected to affect 50% of the global population by 2050. The new technology promises more intuitive, accurate, and efficient vision tests.
ZEISS’s integration of CREAL’s 3D display technology will enable precise digital eye diagnostics and adaptable test procedures. This collaboration aims to advance vision care by merging ZEISS’s expertise with CREAL’s innovative display solutions, potentially transforming vision health both in practice and virtually.
CREAL was ranked among the TOP 100 Scale-ups in 2023, TOP 100 Swiss Startups from 2018 to 2022, participated in Venture Leaders Mobile in 2020 and Venture Leaders Technology in 2018, and won the second stage of Venture Kick in 2017.
