The Geneva-based consultancy, which also makes crowdfunding platforms for instutitons such as the Red Cross, will use the funds to expand the white-label blockchain services it offers its customers. The funding round was first time that the canton of Geneva allowed a company to raise finance selling digital tokens, the company said.
"We have invested in the use of blockchain and co-created solutions with our clients such as a land register for industrial land in Geneva, a register of mountain guides with the Canton of Valais and the Vaudoise or the traceability of wine with the Domaine du Paradis in Geneva," chief executive Vincent Pignon said in an interview.
WeCan.Fund's founders received 10,000 francs and training from Venture Kick in 2015. "Venture Kick helped us a lot in this process, especially at the beginning and we are very honored to have been able to benefit from this support," Pignon said.
