The EIC Accelerator is among Europe's most competitive funding programs for deep-tech companies. In the latest round, only 38 startups were selected from across Europe, with a success rate of less than 5%.

Founded as a spin-off from ETH Zürich and Empa, a Venture Kick and Venture Leaders alumnus, and ranked among the Top100 Swiss Startups twice, BTRY develops thin-film solid-state batteries for IoT, MedTech, wearable, and consumer electronics applications. Its technology combines energy storage and power delivery in a single solution, addressing a common challenge faced by electronics manufacturers.

The company's solvent-free vacuum coating process uses established roll-to-roll manufacturing equipment from the semiconductor industry, supporting scalable and cost-efficient production. The EIC funding will help BTRY further industrialize its manufacturing process and move closer to large-scale production, including plans for a factory capable of producing millions of batteries annually.
