Augetik receives CHF 40,000 from Venture Kick to scale industrial muon imaging deployment

13.02.2026

The deeptech startup Augetik has secured Venture Kick support to bring muon tomography from research labs into industrial use. Its semiconductor-based imaging systems enable non-destructive inspection and continuous monitoring of critical infrastructure such as nuclear waste storage and post-tensioned bridges, addressing high-value safety and regulatory challenges that conventional methods cannot solve.

What was the first real signal that your solution worked outside the lab or pitch deck, and what did that moment change for you?
The first real signal came when infrastructure experts approached us about using muon tomography for post-tensioned bridges, where current inspection methods simply can’t see through concrete. At the same time, we had discussions with nuclear storage operators and insurance companies facing similar blind spots.

When we demonstrated that our platform could solve these problems without disassembly, the interest in pilots was immediate. That’s when we knew we were addressing high-value, regulatory-driven challenges others couldn’t. From there, we shifted from pure technology validation to real commercial momentum, reinforced by strong investor interest at the ETH Deep Tech Investor Summit.

Can you briefly describe your project and where it stood when you entered Venture Kick?
Augetik makes muon imaging practical for industry after decades in research labs. Our semiconductor-based systems enable non-destructive testing and continuous monitoring of critical infrastructure like nuclear waste casks and post-tensioned bridges, and also unlock value in mining and exploration.

When we entered Venture Kick, we had lab-validated technology and promising early customer conversations, but we were still defining our market entry strategy and concrete commercialization steps.

How has the direction of your product/service/product strategy changed since working with the Venture Kick Team?
Venture Kick helped us move from informal validation to structured market validation. Through Kickers Camp and jury feedback, we sharpened our pitch, refined our beachhead market, and clarified timelines and unit economics.

This discipline strengthened our value proposition and helped turn early interest into structured pilot discussions with customers.

How will the Stage 2 funding help you advance your project concretely?
Stage 2 funding allows us to convert early interest into real traction. It supports prototype deployments and pilots that generate the data and contracts needed to de-risk commercialization.

It also strengthens our IP protection, supports key hires, and helps us build the operational foundation for scaling the company.
