And the winners of venture kick stage 1 are ...

29.11.2013

Kofatec, SIGMAtools and Henschel Robotics won venture kick’s first stage. They all won CHF 10’000. – of pre-seed capital. venture kick will allow them to expand their project and compete for CHF 20'000.- next stage.

Kofatec
Adrian Koller, founder of Kofatec, is actually Senior Scientist at Hochschule Luzern. He developed the Colostral IgG Sensor-bovine, a small hand-held device that supports on-farm quality assessment of bovine colostrum in terms of immunoglobulin G content. Shortly before or immediately after giving birth, cows start producing immunoglobulins (antibodies) of various types in large quantities in their mammary glands and make so their immunological functions available for transfer to the calf through oral uptake of colostrum. The Sensor tracks if there is a lack of these antibodies and avoids like this that the calves get sick.

Henschel Robotics
Chris Henschel is a research associated at University of Zürich. He developed Henschel Robotics HDrive, an easy to use electric servomotor controlled via Ethernet from a home PC. The fast response time, the wide range of interface possibilities and the high dynamics render this direct drive to a reliable motor for high precision applications.

SIGMAtools
Adam Gontarz, a PhD student at ETH Zürich, founded SIGMAtools, an energy and resource measurement, analysis and optimization of machine tools and production equipment. This allows reducing the consumption of energy and at the same time, saving money.
