Further, a visual inspection toolkit speeding up manufacturing processes, a support device for workers that ensures their wellbeing and a system simplifying the recycling process of coffee capsules will advance to the next stage. Meet the projects and the founders behind them below.
Jamie & I - ETHZ, Internet
Jamie & I combines artificial intelligence with fashion e-commerce. It sends users personalized outfit recommendations tailored to their style and adjusted to upcoming events. Using artificial intelligence, “Jamie” gets to know the personal taste of its users and improves the recommendations over time.
BlinkLabs - ETHZ, Software
BlinkLabs provides manufacturers and their integrator partners with an easy-to-use visual inspection toolkit powered by deep learning. The software solution enables manufacturers to lower costs and speed up production by reducing the need for manual quality control.
AUXIVO - ETHZ, Electronics, Mechanics
Auxivo develops wearable support devices for workers executing physically demanding jobs. Their simple and effective solutions will help lower stress and strain exposure of workers in the logistics, construction and manufacturing business, reducing their fatigue and ensuring their wellbeing.
ALAnostics - University of Geneva, Biotech
The spin-off of the University of Geneva develops a tumor paint that helps surgeons identify breast cancer cells during surgery. This ensures, that as little as possible healthy tissue but all of the tumour is removed during surgery. With its technology, ALAnostics can minimize the risk of additional operations and improving the survival rate of breast cancer patients.
CapAgain - EPFL, Electronics, Mechanics
Single serve coffee capsules, while convenient, create a lot of waste and with this, a lot of costs. CapAgain tackles this problem head-on by presenting an efficient solution to meet future environmental challenges. Its product enables the recycling of coffee capsules right inside the coffee machine. After brewing the coffee, their machine automatically extracts the coffee ground out of the used capsule. The consumer then can compost the coffee and throw the packaging material in the respective recycle bin, making coffee capsules a sustainable product.
