The venture pitch winners are revealed

Graspio, Re:meeting, Plair, ScanTrust and Strensor Systems won venture kick’s first stage. They all won CHF 10’000. – of pre-seed capital. venture kick will allow them to expand their project and compete for CHF 20'000.- next stage.



Graspio

Dmitrii Shevchuk, an EPFL student, improved his project of startup during the course venture challenge. Graspio is a web tool for teams and organizations to manage and collaborate on projects. What makes Graspio unique is the fact that it allows to work with tasks and documents preserving data privacy. The transfer of files is using a P2P protocol with end-to-end encryption.


Re:Meeting
David Imseng, currently post doc at IDIAP EPFL, co-founded Re:meeting, a cloud-based service that records, archives, analyses and reviews in-person and teleconference meetings. It makes meetings more efficient and more accessible.

Plair
Svetlana Afonina, a PhD student at University of Geneva, developped Plair, a real-time aerosol detectors dedicated for Research, Meteo and Healthcare institutions concerned by air quality, contamination and pollution.

ScanTrust
ScanTrust proposes a Web platform and a unique authentication technology which enables any party to secure its documents and products against counterfeiting, using standard printing equipment and mobile devices for authentication. ScanTrust’s digital counterfeit detection technology integrates smoothly into existing production processes. This allows any type of product to be protected in a cost-effective, scalable approach. This project has been developped by Justin Piccard, assistant at EPFL,  and his co-founders.

Strensor Systems
Aleksander Mark Hayes, student in Mechanical engineering at ETH, co-founded Strensor Systems. A system that produces and distributes novel sensors that react to certain harmful defects in needles that are used for medical injection, that up to now have not been detected.
